MYTI Advocacy & Coaching
Advocacy & Support

When life at school is hard for your child, your whole world is upside-down.

It doesn't have to be.

Every family comes to advocacy from a different starting point. Some of you are already deep in it, there's an IEP or 504 in place, you've sat through the meetings, and you know the system isn't delivering what was promised. Others are just beginning to suspect your child needs more support, and you're not sure what to ask for or where to start.

Both paths lead to the same place: a child who is understood, and a parent who has real help with genuinely hard, layered work. Below are the two ways most families step into this work, find the one that sounds like you.

Where are you starting?

Two paths into this work

Track AAlready in the system

"We have an IEP or 504."

The plan exists, but it's being ignored, watered down, or no longer fits who your child is becoming. You need someone in your corner who can read the document, hear what's actually happening at school, and help you push for the plan your child deserves.

  • Review your current IEP/504 with a critical eye
  • Prep for annual reviews, amendments, and re-evaluations
  • Draft parent input statements and follow-up emails
  • Hold the school accountable to what's already in writing

Track BJust starting to ask

"I think we might need an IEP or 504."

Something's off. School is harder than it should be, your gut is telling you your child needs more support, but no one has named it yet. We help you sort through what you're seeing, request the right evaluations, and walk in knowing what to ask for.

  • Make sense of what you're observing at home and school
  • Request evaluations in writing, and know what to ask for
  • Understand the difference between an IEP and a 504
  • Prepare for your first eligibility meeting with confidence

Not sure which one you are? That's okay, most parents aren't until we talk it through.

How we show up

Three ways we advocate alongside you

Real support for your child at school, in the wider world, and for you as the parent holding it all together.

Educational Advocacy

Translate your child's needs into language schools understand and act on. Together we prepare for meetings, push back on inadequate plans, and build a strategy that protects your child's learning, identity, and self-worth.

Advocacy Beyond the Classroom

School is only one of the rooms your child has to be understood in. We work on how to advocate with extended family, coaches, and instructors, sports, martial arts, music, art, so the adults around your child are working with them, not against them.

Support for the Parent

Carrying this is heavy. Schema coaching helps you recognise the patterns being triggered in you, the burnout, the people-pleasing, the rage at unfair systems, so they don't quietly reshape how you show up at home with your kids.

Where families land

The school situations we help with

A few of the most common patterns parents bring us, though every family's story has its own shape.

01School Refusal

When your child refuses to go to school

When a child starts refusing school, the urgency to get them back in the building can drown out a deeper question, what is their body and mind trying to tell them? We help you respond in a way that protects your child from internalising blame or shame, work with the school on a sustainable re-entry, and keep your child's sense of self intact through it.

02Plan in Place, Plan Ignored

When the school won't follow the IEP or 504

You did the hard work. The plan exists on paper, and it's being quietly ignored, watered down, or applied inconsistently. Most families can't afford the lawyer it would take to enforce it, so the burden lands back on you. We give you the language, the documentation strategy, and the meeting playbook to hold the school accountable to what's already in writing, without litigation as the only lever.

03Issues with the Teacher

When you and the teacher are at odds

Sometimes you need to go head-to-head with a teacher who isn't meeting your child where they are. We help you find the bridge instead of the battle, because most of the time, teachers falling short isn't a lack of caring, it's a lack of understanding and tools. We work on language and approach that turns the teacher into a collaborator, so your child has one more adult genuinely on their team.

04Getting the Right Testing

When you need evaluations, but can't access them for your child

Getting your child properly evaluated shouldn't require hiring an attorney, but for many families it feels that way. We help you formally request the right evaluations, document the school's response, and navigate the eligibility process so you can secure what your child needs without escalating to legal action.
